When you are in a strange city it is really great to wander around and take in the sights.
The problem is that it can be difficult to find the places you want to see and it can take the edge off the experience if you suddenly find you can't find your way back to your hotel.
Traditionally we've all used the tourist maps and often resorted to struggling with a strange language to ask for directions.
What we really need is a GPS solution that will work for a tourist on foot. The usual suspects for cars often react well-enough in cars but have a really short battery life and are not always sensitive enough for a walker.
Until recently most of the GPS devices aimed at "hikers" were very technical
and difficult to use but we have tried the Garmin Colorado 300 and it really has
worked.

If you follow our simple instructions it is very easy to use.
The results have been fantastic. We used it in Madrid, in Amsterdam, in London and even in smaller cities in Cyprus.
Not only were we able to find particular attractions we felt totally confident just wandering aimlessly from one place to another and then using the device to find our hotel.
We even managed to keep an eye on how far away we were so we did not end up with a huge trek back after a day shopping (ugh!).
The sensitivity was really good and managed to track us well amongst tall buildings.
There are good options as far as the battery is concerned too. A pocketful of cheap AA batteries will last 2 - 4 hours at a time or you can use more expensive ones that really do last 15 hours or more.
These are quite expensive devices, and possibly you only want them for a short visit so why not rent one from us?
We'll provide a small guide and you can decide what option you'd like to take as far as the batteries are concerned - we're even happy for you to provide your own if you wish.
